Movie Series: Ryce and Benja in Victor/Victoria

Directed in 1982 by Blake Edwards, Victor/Victoria is a nice comedy story of an impoverished soprano called Victoria who has to pass as a man called Victor to get a job in a music club as a gay singer. An American owner of multiple clubs in Chicago saw her/him acting and he did falls for her/him. After descovering the true, they decided to live together despite the mess of their relation.

With the exceptional performance of Julie Andrews and James Garner, but also Robert Preston and Lesley Ann Warren in main characters, this film deals with humor the homosexuality, transvestism and sexual identity themes.

Of course, I have to note the several musical performances in this movie, scored by Henri Mancini and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse.

Finally, the film was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won the Academy Award for Original Music Score.

You can watch that kiss' scene in YouTube:

  1. So does this mean Ryce is Julie Andrews?

  2. Smiles! After meeting Ryce, probably James Garner also would fall in love with him like me.
