ISIS continues to kill homosexuals

Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Syria threw a gay couple to their deaths. The two young men were allegedly a gay couple. They were flung from a hospital building in the eastern Deir ez-Zor province on charges of "homosexuality and sodomy".

The jihadist group threw another alleged gay couple off the roof of a building in Mosul, Iraq earlier this month. On the same weekend, another two gay men were thrown from a building in Nineveh into a pile of cement blocks. A crowd of ISIS supporters stoned to death two men accused of being gay in Aleppo, Syria over the weekend.

ISIS has branded LGBT people "the worst of all creatures" and has executed nine men and a boy accused of being gay in Syria last September, and have claimed responsibility for the killings of at least 30 other gay men.

The terrorist group, which operates predominantly across Syria and Iraq, is notorious for filming videos in which captives, usually Westerners or opposing fighters besides homosexuals, are cruelly slaughtered.

Stop this brutality!

Trans wins Holland's Next Top Model

Loiza Lamers, a transgender model, won Holland's Next Top Model, making her the first transgender winner of the Top Model franchise.

Just after winning the show, she said: "I can say I am very proud to be transgender".

Lamers, a 20-year-old former hairdresser, reportedly kept her gender identity a secret from the show's producers until she had been cast as one of the competitors on the show.

She said she didn't tell others about her transgender identity because she didn't want it to effect her progress in the competition. But due to Internet rumors she went public about her transition after the show aired, she said, and she has received overwhelmingly positive responses.

While transgender models have been featured across the Top Model franchise, with Isis King in the U.S. version of the show, Lamers is the first to actually win the competition.

Congrats!!!

Soccer star Thierry Henry supports gay players

Soccer star Thierry Henry has sent an incredible message of support to any gay players wanting to come out.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona star said it was good for football if gay players want to come out.

When Henry was asked whether he thought the Premier League, or professional football in general, would accept gay players coming out, he responded amazingly: "I can’t talk for everyone but if I was in a dressing room, that guy would still have been my teammate, and I would have still given him the ball, and I would still see him in the same way. I would still go out and have lunch. We are all human beings at the end of the day so it doesn’t bother me".

Henry added: "When I was in MLS, Robbie Rogers came out and said that he was. And the first question as you can imagine… I said for me, it is not a problem".

Nice, isn't it?

All guys are welcomed to play in the NY Giants

The Giants are the first NFL team to do a You Can Play video, which make the point that athletes should be judged only on their skills.

The video debuted today before the Giants played the Dallas Cowboys, where Michael Sam had played briefly on the practice squad before being cut. Sam is the only out player to be drafted by an NFL team, but he never played in the regular season, leaving that first yet to happen.

"The entire Giants organization has committed to inclusion for all, including LGBT athletes and fans", said Wade Davis, executive director for this campaign. "We are thrilled that the Giants are leading the charge in the NFL for LGBT inclusion", he added.

Although no one talks directly about LGBT players in this video.

Freeskier Gus Kenworthy comes out

US freeskier Gus Kenworthy just came out in a recent interview.

Kenworthy, who won an Olympic silver medal in Sochi, Russia, in 2014, is a three-time world champion and is considered the best free skier in the world.

He wanted to wait until he reached the top of his sport before coming out publicly.

"I never got to be proud of what I did
in Sochi because I felt so horrible about what I didn’t do", Kenworthy said. "I didn’t want to come out as the silver medalist from Sochi. I wanted to come out as the best freeskier in the world", he added.

After his Olympic success, Kenworthy considered quitting the sport after a poor performance at the X Games but returned to competition 10 days later. He finished the season number one.

In any case he has won the best prize, be proud of himself.

Gay couples can celebrate civil unions in Chile

Hundreds of same-sex couples in Chile will head to registry offices this week to celebrate civil unions, which will become legal for the first time in the country.

Chile does not yet allow full marriage, but securing same-sex civil unions in one of the region’s more conservative countries was a victory for activists.

As many as 2 million people are co-habiting in Chile and now they can have their unions legally recognized.

Although the Catholic church is a powerful influence in the region, Latin America has been relatively quick to embrace the recognition of same-sex unions. Same-sex marriage has been legalized in recent years in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and some parts of Mexico.

A the signing ceremony, President Bachelet said: "The civil union law is a vindication in the struggle for sexual diversity rights".

At the Senate today, the bill completed its committee stage and report stage. Several people from the marriage equality movement had had gathered to watch its final moments.

‘That the bill do now pass, agreed?’ the chair of the Senate asked. ‘Agreed,’ the senators said.

British General Says Gay Soldiers Improve Army

In a recent interview, British commander of land forces Lt. General James Everhard points to the emergence of gay soldiers who’ve served openly in the U.K. army in the last 15 years, opening the minds of their fellow troops.

“Those that were slightly frightened of what they didn’t understand; what they learned from those wars, there they fought alongside gay people, was that you can be homosexual and extremely brave … people came back saying, these guys are part of the team.”

Britain dropped its ban on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people openly serving in 2000, but in recent months has begun to encourage their recruitment into the ranks as it looks to modernise its culture and maintain its fighting edge.

It’s good to see their service being recognized.

Remember the gay soldier saved by Prince Harry?
