Happy 10th Anniversary Second Life!!!

Second Life (SL), the main virtual world developed by Linden Lab, was launched on June 23, 2003. Then, all virtual SL community celebrates its 10th anniversary today.

Early in 2003 Second Life had a few sims and avatars, but ten years after SL landmass is nearly 700 square miles (slightly over 1810 square kilometres) and 36 million accounts were created.

Today, an average of about 400,000 new regristrations were created monthly and more than 1 million visit SL each month. Games, events and adventure/fantasy dominate the destinations guide. 

In addition, US$3.2 billion was spent on virtual assets since its creation, and 1.2 million daily transactions were conducted for virtual goods.

But the most important, Second Life is a great and unique virtual environment to socialize with people around the world and live incredible experiences.

The Opening of the New Eddi Haskell's Gallery

A great event in Second Life: the inauguration of the new West Side Gallery of Eddi Haskell, at Virtual Gay World Sim.

We are in luck because we can admire the photographic art of Eddi in a new big building with design based on the Guggenheim Museum of NYC.

For the opening of the new place, Eddi exhibits his photographs about France in Second Life. In this photographic exhibition, called Vive la France!, we can see several shots to different French Sims through the amazing and sensitive Eddi's look.

Today there will be a big party with DJ InsyX, from 2 to 4 pm SLT, to be followed by a grand fireworks display.

Take this taxi to the new Eddi's Gallery, you should not miss it!

GMP Magazine March 2013

The new March issue of GMP Magazine is out. This awesome and very good designed publication is full of nice and interesting stories again. 

Included Joa's reflection, most of the articles of last issue deal with art and cultural issues. I want to highlight the photographers' section of Erik Bayn, Juanello Ralegh, Cera Toll and specially the very interesting Eddi Haskell's report about the arrival of Spring in Second Life, with several amazing photographs (from page 70).

Congrats Joa for this new wonderful issue!

GMP Magazine February 2013

The new February issue of GMP Magazine is out. This awesome and very good designed publication is full of nice and interesting reports again. This time Joaopedro has invited me to participate in his magazine with one article. Very grateful Joa, it has been a big responsability but also a pleasure.

After some posts in my blog about same-sex marriage and same-sex civil unions, I decided to write an extensive article about marriage equality around the world. I have to thank Ryce for his great help and support, once again, cause nothing I do could be possible without him.

You will find my article from page 26 to 33, but of course you don't miss the rest of articles and reports. Specially interesting is Eddi Haskell's report about New York City in Second Life, from page 64, cause it is the beginning of a virtual tour in his blog with a photography coverage based on the nicest sims inspired in that amazing city.
